We rejoice to be part of God's one Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church within the Church of England. We seek to be and do what God requires, to welcome all who come, and to share what we have received with those around us. WebThe Parish Church of St Matthew was built in 1865 to replace an earlier church built in 1791 on the other side of Market street. The original church graveyard was closed in the 19th Century. Most headstones were removed and the area of land is now a Memorial Garden for the Community to use.

In the year 1871, the young congregation bought eight plots (lots) on Hoyne Ave and 21st St. On the 21st of June, 1872, the cornerstone of the new church was placed, and this was already dedicated on the first of December in the same year.
