WebI think you'll find that any material otherwise can still have fret sprout and it just comes down to how much moisture the board takes in and loses. To be fair though, fixing fret sprout is easy and can be done by most people with a bit of patience and a few inexpensive tools should it occur. Dress the ends now, then keep it properly hydrated, and you should never have the problem again. Oiling your fretboard isn't hydrating it.
