WebI think the 50xl is largely the same but in black. It does have an extra voice as you can add octave down with the heaviest gain settings. Sounds like the AV30 could be just what I’m after then. I don’t need sparkle fender cleans but slight tweed push would be good. I've played both and, surprisingly, preferred the 40.
